How to Adjust Titanium Glasses Frames

How to Adjust Titanium Glasses Frames
Titanium glasses are quite pricey when compared to other types of prescription glasses frames, but there are good reasons why this is so. Titanium is a very lightweight material, which means that wearers can hardly feel the weight on their faces—a handy advantage for those who need to wear very thick lenses. Another reason why so many believe that titanium is an ideal material for eyewear frames is that they are also very durable. It is resistant to rust, and can last for a very long time. Titanium frames also need requires minimal maintenance efforts, and even if they need a bit of adjusting, the material is strong enough to withstand your amateurish repair attempts.
Readjustment is something for which you don't need an expert to do. You can do it yourself, and you only need a set of three-point pliers for the entire process. With pliers, and a bit of effort on your part, you can successfully readjust your titanium glasses without having to to pay an optical technician your hard earned cash.

First, you need to set it down on a smooth table, with the lenses facing down towards the table. The arms of the glasses should be horizontal, and facing skyward. Set the lens end of the glasses down firmly on the surface of the table, and keep it straight and flat. In this position, you may be able to see which of the glasses' arms may require some adjusting. Check and see whether the arms are pushing the frames up from the top of the table. You should also check if the arms are positioned too high from the top of the table.
If the arms need adjusting, you can use the three-point pliers to make a small adjustment. Try to move the arm as gently as you can when you are setting it in the right direction. Make sure that you are only exerting the lightest pressure, and try to move very slowly.

Each time you make a small adjustment, check the alignment of the arms by setting down the glasses back on the table. Until the glasses are able to lay nice and flat against the surface of the table, you will need to keep on making small adjustments. Keep doing this, until you get it right.
Even though titanium spectacles are well known for their sturdiness, it is still a very good idea to care for them as best you can. During times when you are not wearing them, you should make it a point to place them back in their case for safekeeping. The case will prevent them from being damaged unnecessarily, and it will also keep them from being bent out of their natural shape.

Also, make sure that you do not twist the arms of your eyeglasses. Titanium may be durable, but they still tend to snap when under great stress. By taking good care of them, you can avoid the stress of buying a new pair of titanium glasses.
