Characteristics of A Stainless Steel Seamless Instrumental Tube


Tubes are normally manufactured by rolling sheet metal, and then welding the two edges together by passing electric current. The electric current heats the two edges sufficiently enough to melt the metal and then weld them together. In a different process, rolling solid billets or starting ingots over cross rollers can produce seamless tubes. Piercing the centre of the billet by a mandrel produces the central hollow of the pipe. Seamless tubes are stronger than the tubes which are manufactured using the standard process. They are normally costlier than the standard tubes as the manufacturing process is more critical.
Instruments can measure the different parameters of fluid products during the manufacturing process. Connection to the main flow is through Stainless Steel Seamless Instrumental Tube.Exposure to high level of corrosion occurs when they come in contact with chemicals contained in the product. Normal tubes manufactured under standard processes are not used here as the longevity of instrumental tubes is very critical. Preference is given to seamless tubes over standard tubes in this case. These tubes last longer and the requirement for replacements may not be there for long durations. Replacing these tubes would invariably cause interruptions in the workflow of the manufacturing process.
Heat exchangers are another area where corrosion can create a lot of problems. The heat exchanger is made up of a shell with a large number of tubes running through it. In a chemical manufacturing process, one fluid runs through the pipes while another fluid runs through the shell outside the pipes. Heat from one fluid is transferred through the sides of the pipe to the other fluid flowing through the shell and vice versa. Both fluids can be corrosive and any damage caused to any of the pipes will result in the two fluids getting mixed together. To avoid this situation from occurring frequently, heat exchangers are built with Stainless Steel Heat Exchanger Tubes. A mixture of chromium, molybdenum and nickel in varying proportions with steel gives the maximum efficiency of stainless tubes used in instrumentation and heat exchangers. It produces a tube made of an alloy that is much more durable and corrosion-resistant than the normal steel tubes. The seamless tubes manufactured in this way are called duplex seamless tubes which have different gradations, according to the mixture of external elements used to make the alloy. The present trend is to use these tubes in manufacturing processes where corrosion can make a big difference.

The New Yamaha Bolt Vs Harley 883 "Bobber" Style Motorycle


The Yamaha Bolt comes with multiple colors white, black, and in the R model You can get camo green along with other colors. I found out the Yamaha Bolt R spec engine size is 942cc (57.5cc) Vs the Harley 883's, 883cc (53.9ci). They bolt come with an air cooled V-Twin motor. Off the line on the Iron 883 you will feel the pulsing sensation, just like a Harley. Which can be cool at first, but on a long ride more or less annoying and sometimes tiring.

      The Bolts engine is mounted straight to the frame. It eliminates most of that pulsing and vibrating that the Harley has. You will definatly feel the lowend torque off the bottem end of the bolt. Where as on the Harley you really have to wind out the motor to get it going. The are both great bikes, but some experts say the bolt blows the Harley out of the water. They better, Yamaha has had a LONG TIME to study their competition.

        Harley's suspension has 3.62" inches of travel, while the Yamaha Bolt offers 4.7" of travel. That's almost 1" of difference in travel alone. In the rear the Harley offers 1.63" of Travel and The Bolt has 2.8" of travel and a remote rear resovoir to absorb bumps. Which all leads to better handling in the Bolt. Oh yea I forgot to mention the Bolt has a full inch more ground clearance which helps you get through those tight corners. Lets talk about weight the Bolt comes in at 540LBS, and the Harley comes in at 573LBS, that's almost thirty pounds,relevant to a big of dry cement.
        So now that you know some of the obvious specs, it comes down to are you a Harley guy. Loud pipes saves lifes club. Or will you try something new and test ride the bolt? Another thing I found very "ballsy" by yamaha was that the Yamaha's MSRP is $7990.00 and the 883's MSRP is $7999.00. So why in heck would anyone try to make a nine dollar less price differance compared to the Harley. Harley's are know to be expensive, so to sell these Bolt's wouldn't you market less than nine bucks. This way you're dealerships wouldn't have that HUGE rebuttal to deal with

Advantages of Reflective Foil Insulation over Bulk Insulation


Reflective insulation (Reflective Foil Insulation and foil bubble insulation) is widely seen in aluminum foil material which has been specially designed to resist & block heat in open spaces. Reflective foil insulation is popularly used to keep the house and other building cool in a sunny day or in hot climate.

While on the other hand, Bulk insulation is a sort of insulation which is more commonly used in Australia and acts as a blanket to preserve warm climate in winter and cool in sunny season. Step by Step Copper Foil Stained Glass Instructions


Copper foiled stained glass is a very versatile form of construction for making stained glass. Panels can be made with very intricate designs and detail. The possibilities are almost endless. In addition to stained glass panels, other options include boxes, picture frames, fireplace screens, mirrors, doors, sidelights, transoms, cabinet inserts and sun catchers just to name a few.

Before you begin your first stained glass project, here are some essential tools and supplies you will need.
1. Pick a project – This is only limited by your imagination

2. Choose or make a pattern – Ready made patterns can be found in books, magazines and on the internet

3. Select glass – The choices are almost endless. Check out your local stained glass retail store to view their selection

4. Make paper templates and trace pattern pieces onto the glass

5. Use a glass cutter to score the glass to fit the pattern pieces - Hold the cutter as you would a pen or pencil. Do not press too hard, this will cause a bad break. You should hear a soft scratching sound as you score the glass.
6. Use running pliers and breaking pliers to break apart the score lines - If cutting a straight line, you can snap the glass with your hands.

7. With the glass grinder, smooth and shape the glass for a final fit to the pattern

8. Wrap each glass piece with copper foil - This allows the solder to adhere to the glass

9. Assemble the pieces according to the pattern

10. Apply flux to foiled pieces and solder seams - This step will take time and practice. Don't give up. With time and practice you will achieve the solder seams you want.

11. Attach zinc frame - This provides stability to your stained glass piece. Measure the width and height, then cut the zinc to fit your piece. Solder the corners, then solder adjacent solder seams to the zinc frame

12. Remove flux residue – use commercial flux remover or a combination of dish soap and baking soda

13. Apply patina - Patina is used to draw focus to the glass and design rather than the solder seams.

14. Clean and polish - This last step will give your project the shine and brilliance you are looking for.

Different Types of Metal Plating Chemicals


Plating describes surface covering where a metal is deposited on a conductive surface. Plating is used for many purposes, some of them are to decorate objects, corrosion inhibition, solder ability, hardens, improves wear ability, reduce friction, improve paint adhesion, alter conductivity, radiation shielding and for many other purposes. Different types of CA metal plating chemicals are gold plating, silver plating, rhodium plating, chrome plating, zinc plating, tin plating, alloy plating, composite plating, cadmium plating, copper plating, nickel plating, brass plating.

Gold plating means that a thin layer of gold is deposited into the surface of another metal. Mostly it is deposited in copper, silver, and chemicals.  Gold plating is used in electronics, jewelry. There are two types of industrial chrome plating like hexavalent chromium, and trivalent chromium. Zinc plating involves the electrolytic application of zinc by immersing clean steel parts in a Zinc salt solution and applying an electric current. Tinplate is sheet steel covered with a thin layer of tin. Tinplate is mostly used in the manufacture of tin cans. Tinplate was used for cheap pots, pans and other hollowware. It is not safe to eat food from a rusty tin can. Tinplate has been replaced by galvanized vessels. An electroplated alloy may be solid solution strengthened or precipitation hardened by heat treatment to improve the plating physical and chemical properties. Tungsten carbide, silicon carbide, chromium carbide, and aluminum oxide are commonly used in composite electroplating.

Cadmium plating is used in aerospace fasteners, military and aviation specs. Cadmium plating can be used for corrosion resistance, has relatively low thickness, and for salt atmospheres, lubricity and solder ability.  Cadmium plating is under examination because of the environmental toxicity of the cadmium metal. Different types of nickel plating are bright nickel and semi-bright nickel. Bright nickel plating is used in automotive, electrical, hardware and other industries. Black nickel plating is lustrous and has a black or dark gray color. Plating is done with little or no agitation. Copper plating is the process in which a layer of copper is deposited on the item to be plated by using an electric current. Three basic copper plating are alkaline, acid and mildly alkaline.

A quarter of the weight of steel, but just as strong. In fact, magnesium is the lightest of all metals used to build cars, buildings, and other structures like bridges.
More impact resistant. Magnesium alloys absorb more of the impact's energy. They are therefore more resistant to dents.
The dampening capacity or ability to reduce noise and vibration is also much higher than that of steel.
Magnesium is less rigid and bends easier than steel, making it easier to fabricate.
The alloy isn't actually new. It was discovered in 1755 by Joseph Black and isolated in 1808. The search for a more efficient and abundant material has led researchers to experiment with magnesium alloys in the place of the more traditional materials like steel that doesn't perform as expected. The aforementioned factors have made the alloy a newfangled contraption in the auto industry.
The Faces of Magnesium in Automotives
Some of the first uses for magnesium in automotives were inside the car. Die cast steering columns, engine blocks, and chassis were just some of the uses for the alloy in cars. The vehicles were much lighter, used less gas, and had less emission as a result. Eventually, seat frames, dash panels, and the track that held the sunroof were also cast from magnesium. Naturally, the next step became taking the alloy to the outside of the car.

Magnesium alloy sheeting made roof panels, hoods, oil pans and other outer elements of the common car lighter, stronger, and more resistant to impact. Expense was a concern for the die casting process, but the sheeting is less expensive because it requires less compression force to create, allows for parts consolidation and simpler designs. What to consider when choosing the right springs for your design


The following are the most common spring types available on the market today and examples of uses for these.

Compression Springs are used to create a pressure against two surfaces or objects. They are being used in smaller objects such as latches and vents, but also for very large solutions such as vibration dampers on road bridges. The material used is often alloyed steel or stainless steel. The compression springs can be wounded with either hot or cold materials.
The actual wire used for winding the compression spring to a spiral, is available in dimensions smaller than a hair and up to 6.5 cm. The windings diameter and number of turns are also available in different sizes depending on the needs and requirements in the spring.

Tension springs are used to pull together two surfaces or objects with a certain force. The force of the spring is different depending on how tightly the thread is winded, either sparse or dense. A tension spring usually has some form of end fittings, in example loops or hooks to attach the two objects to be drawn together. Tension springs are probably found in objects such as door locks, push chairs and office lights.

Torsion springs are used to merge or split two surfaces or objects to a certain angle. Torsion springs can be left or right winded and are available in both with single and double function. The force of a torsion spring is lower the further out in the spring one is. We find torsion springs in for example shutters, doors, clothespins or large items such as office chairs. The size of wire used for torsion springs are usually between 0.1 mm to 5 cm and most metals can be used for manufacturing.

Clock springs - The clock spring is a type of torsion spring. It has more turns and is made from flat wires instead of round wires. Clock springs rotates around the object's axis and to give its force to the other object through the outermost edge of the spring.
An advantage of the clock spring is that it’s free from friction between the coils when assembled in the correct way.
Clock springs are in being used in watches, as height adjusters on the steering column of trucks and in power switches. Clock springs are mostly manufactured in stainless steel.

Motor springs - Just like the clock spring, the motor spring is a type of torsion spring with more turns and flat wires instead of round wires. A motor spring is sensitive to friction and must be lubricated at the assembly. The sensitivity is caused because of very tight turns, allowing the friction to occur. The motor springs are each normally about 10 - 20 turns, making the circular motion to be a maximum of 20 turns. If you need more torque than what one motor spring can do, just use a number of motor springs next to each other. The motor springs are often represented in the electric power industry in for example distribution plants, usually manufactured in stainless steel.


Constant force springs also belongs to the category torsion spring as it’s turning about its own axis. However, the constant force spring is used to power the linear motion. Constant force springs can be mounted both single and double, depending on the power needs. A constant force spring is made of a strip of stainless material and is used for example in goods dispensers in stores where the goods automatically move forward because of the pressure after a product is being removed.

Die springs are fairly similar to compression springs in its design and function, and are mainly used in tools. A die spring has rectangular threads instead of the more used round threads. Die springs are being used in tools such as pressure tools and valves. They are used in objects where there is limited space for the spring to work. Depending on how tightly the threads are, the die springs ability to withstand stress and pressure vary.

Gas springs are used frequently in need of a soft opening/closing of for example a door or over-hung doors. There are gas springs called lockable gas springs and these are used where there is a requirement for stepless adjustment with locking. They are used for, among other things, office chairs, and patient equipment where the requirement for smooth motion is high. A gas spring is filled with nitrogen gas and is cylindrical. It is categorized by the length, force, motion and reduced motion. To make it possible for the gas spring to be attached to the two items needed to be adjusted, threads or loops of any kind are being used.

Leaf springs are used to lock something. For example, there are leaf springs in the hatch latch on the stove in the kitchen. Leaf springs are sometimes also called clips which are being used in paintings to keep the cover into place against the frame. The production of leaf springs is made by laser cutting or stamping manually or automatically. How to Keep Bolts From Coming Loose


Bolts are especially advantageous when dealing with larger lumber and steel, due to its strength, wider flexibility of length, and ability to more or less permanently fasten the joint. Aside from the obvious strength issue, the problem with screws and nails is the feared eventuality of them becoming loose over time, and jeopardizing the integrity of joints. This is especially true of joints subject to vibration and movement.
For the most part bolts don't face the above problem due to the ability to produce what is called a clamping load, or a preload, which if large enough, will ensure joint integrity. The preload is the force that is created when torque is applied to a bolt to fasten two or more objects together. The bolt is pulled into tension as torque is applied, while the fastened parts experience compression.
Bolts are manufactured in such a way that the bolt shank will fail before the threads strip. In other words, the collective strength of the thread can withstand forces greater than what would be necessary to rupture the actual bolt shank! But a bolt can also "fail" by becoming loose over time, thus compromising the joint it was supposed to hold together. This is perhaps the most common type of bolt failure - where the mechanical load exceeds the preload of the bolt causing it to loosen.
This is what happens when a bolt is tightened down on a material that isn't sufficiently stiff, like wood, causing an impression. (See further below.) This can happen to a low quality washer as well, and causes a loss of preload leading to premature loosening of the bolt. When there is even one applied load that is greater than the yield limit of the material being fastened, brinelling will occur.
Lock washers, or split washers. These are washers that are split and bent into a helical shape, putting a spring force on the two surfaces it contacts. Contrary to popular belief or use, split washers don't offer a sufficiently effective "lock" to make them safe for critical applications. The torque required to flatten a split washer is in most cases significantly less than the recommended torque for a given joint. As per Hooke's law, that states that the extension of a spring is in direct proportion to the force applied to it, we know that the bolt tightened down with the lock washer will not be able to resist a rotational force greater than the force applied to tighten it - which as you've probably noticed, isn't all that much.
Elastic stop nuts. There are various kinds of elastic stop nuts, but the concept is the same. The nut thread or some portion of the nut is made to deform elastically, creating friction, which keeps the bolted joint from coming loose. If used properly, with the right amount of applied torque, this can provide a fairly effective locking mechanism.
Thread adhesive, or thread-locking fluid. Applied to bolt threads, thread adhesive can be applied both before or after bolting. There are two kinds: removable and permanent. The removable type can be removed by simply applying heat. Note that bolt thread must be cleaned thoroughly and even primed in some cases before adhesive application.
Rather than lock washers, elastic stop nuts and tapered thread nuts are recommended for applications expecting large loads and movement, due to the above mentioned reasons. In any application where the integrity of bolted joints are critical to structural safety, locking washers of any kind as the primary safeguard against rotation are discouraged.
Other measures you can take when dealing with wooden bolted joints is minimizing movement at the joints by sufficient bracing. Vibration, movement, and worst of all, rotation at the joints, can be reduced to a minimum by transferring loads and forces away from joints and toward the foundation. This is done by properly bracing a structure.
